Mothers Day weekend takes on a lot of different shapes and sizes. One thing I have always enjoyed for most people is it is usually relaxed. Which is a great way to honor your mom or the memory of her. So, in that spirit there we are taking a look at some area vintage and bargain "mom friendly" shopping events, along with a fun "since we are in the area!" nostalgic ice cream stops.

For the record, my mother Elaine (below) LOVES a good deal
and her favorite ice cream flavor is Maple Nut.

I love you mom!

I will be focusing for the next few weeks in the weekly and elsewhere with Video's and other media on distributing accurate information about changes from the recent National Level Realtor Association class action lawsuit "proposed settlement" that are coming  real estate in the next two months.

There is a lot of media hype/spin, and honestly much of it is not given good context.

The media has implied that the settlement will serve to meaningfully lower prices and make homeownership affordable again.

 This is False.

Market values in real estate have always been determined by a buyer’s willingness to pay a given amount based on supply and demand. Any fees in a real estate transaction are additional expenses. These fees include not only commissions, but many other related charges such as our MN State Deed Tax, recording fee's, etc
. If any fees were to be reduced, there is no economic model that suggests the prices must come down accordingly.

The core principal that home ownership is increasingly less affordable is that homes have significantly risen in value these last few years due to high demand and low supply.

So, how might that work as a matter of practice? Home sellers need to hire an agent they feel confident has the knowledge, the tenacity, and the experience to get you the representation you are paying for.

Today, the real estate market is pulling from a lot of different directions. Homeowners need a steady experienced person to be a trusted advisor. A market current, pragmatic, and unhyped counsel on potential home investments (dealing with deferred maintenance and cosmetics) and what likely return for their time, effort, and money can be realistically anticipated.

I spend many hours over long periods of time in person, email, and on the phone providing value and confidence to homeowners.
Let me do that for you, it is at the core of what I call... Showing Up, Working Hard, Every Day. & long before I ask for your commitment.

When you invite me to your home. I will drink your coffee, tea, or tap water, and take a brief tour with you. Then, we will discuss your plans and I listen to you carefully.  No "presentation", just me with my legal pad and clipboard.
