A time to give thanks...

It was nearly 250 years ago in 1789 when George Washington called for a "Day of Thanksgiving" officially in the United States. It was already a "non-official" celebrated holiday since the early colonial days. It has been an honored the tradition of giving thanks to God, their friends and family, and of course the provision they have recieved from the land.
"A wise person does not grieve for the things which they have not, but rejoices for those which he has."
In the early first century there was a Greek philospher named Epictetus. I love a number of his quotes and his perspective on life's true meaning. His quote speaks for itself, and is a great reminder and challenge to be grateful people.
